What is Direct Donation?
Direct Donation is the primary source of funds for Sunalta School to provide critical enrichment and unique experiences for our students. Several years ago, our school community decided that we’d rather just ask families to directly donate to the school instead of requiring students to sell items and meet a “quota”.
The fundraising goal for the 2024/25 school year is: $50,000
The fundraising goal is directly based on the planned activities and enrichment for this school year. To meet this goal, the recommended donation is:
$130 per student ($100 for kindergarten students)
or
$300 per family
Some families may wish to donate more; others may not be able to give, or give as much. ALL donations are greatly appreciated!
Where do the funds go?
The annual school enrichment budget is created by the School Administration, Teachers, School Council and Society to enhance student experience at Sunalta School.
All of the funds raised through direct donation will be used towards facilitating enrichment for our students.
Key Expenditures from the budget often include:
Enhancements: technology, literacy materials, music equipment, math and RazKids subscriptions, etc.
Residencies: Elder Shirley, Quest Theatre, spirit days/leadership, Alien in-line, science, etc.
Experiential: field trips, tennis, swimming, Camp Chief Hector, Drumheller trip, etc.
More information about the 2024/25 budget will be shared at the October 15th Council/Society meeting.
Many companies offer donation matching through Benevity.
Please contact your company’s HR department to see if this is possible.
